Pregnancy, childbirth, and aging can stretch the vaginal canal and labia and affect other features of the vagina. As a result, women may experience problems with sexual sensation, aesthetics, comfort, and continence.
Our doctors are leaders in the field of vaginal rejuvenation and have treated hundreds of San Francisco women with both surgical and non-surgical techniques. Our board-certified plastic surgeons perform labiaplasty, clitoral hood reduction, vaginoplasty, perineoplasty, and G-spot enhancement. They also offer revisional plastic surgery to patients who are unhappy with the results they’ve gotten from past procedures.
Benefits of Vaginal Rejuvenation
The benefits that patients experience following vaginal rejuvenation depend on the type of care they receive. These may include:
Better Sexual Sensation
It’s common for a woman’s vaginal canal to remain loose after having children, leading to a lack of friction or to their partner slipping out during intercourse. Vaginoplasty tightens the walls of the vagina to address these problems, and non-surgical G-spot enhancement can increase blood flow and sensitivity.
Aesthetic Improvement
Elongated or asymmetric labia can affect the way women look in tight-fitting clothing, such as swimsuits or yoga pants. It can also impact a woman’s self-confidence with intimate partners. Vaginal rejuvenation procedures can give San Francisco patients a younger, more compact appearance.
More Control
Childbirth can damage the area between the vagina and anus and weaken the vaginal muscles, creating challenges with incontinence. We offer treatment to help women with these symptoms.
Greater Comfort
Skin around the clitoris or vaginal opening may be pulled uncomfortably during intercourse. Surgery can remove excess skin to prevent irritation.

Candidates for Vaginal Rejuvenation
Women should consider vaginal rejuvenation if they are having problems with sexual sensation; if they are dissatisfied with the way that their labia or perineal area appears, if they are having trouble with incontinence, or if they are experiencing pain during sex and other activities from skin irritation.
A thorough in-office exam is the best way to find out about the options that are available. Our board-certified plastic surgeons and our experienced team make every effort to create a comfortable and supportive experience for our patients. Privacy and personalized care are priorities in our practice.
Women considering vaginal rejuvenation will need to have had a Pap smear within the previous two years. During the consultation, patients will complete an FSFI questionnaire about the symptoms they are experiencing as well as their level of sexual satisfaction. They will discuss their areas of concern and what they want to address with treatment. If the patient is interested in vaginal tightening, the doctor may perform a vaginal exam to assess the degree of laxity.
In some cases, patients may be able to regain tone with Kegel exercises or through non-surgical treatment, such as Viveve or ThermiVa. For improvement in sensation and orgasm, the doctors may recommend a non-surgical, painless treatment called Cliovana. Other women will see more improvement through surgery. Our doctors can help patients review their options to decide the best approach to their care.
Vaginal Rejuvenation Recovery in San Francisco
Because vaginal rejuvenation includes several different approaches, patients will have different experiences with their treatment and recovery. For example, non-surgical procedures like G-spot enhancement have no downtime, and patients can return to most regular activities right away. Other procedures have a recovery period.
Surgeries typically take place at our San Francisco office. Plastic Surgery Associates performs procedures in an AAAASF-certified facility, a designation that demonstrates our commitment to patient safety and comfort. In most cases, procedures such as labiaplasty and clitoral hood reduction only require local anesthesia, while patients will usually have vaginoplasty under general anesthesia.
Patients should be able to go home on the same day as their surgery. Our practice can also guide out-of-town patients to local hotels where they can recuperate. They should plan to stay in the area for about a week and a half during their recovery.
Most women who have vaginal rejuvenation surgery take 7-10 days off from work. Women with physically demanding jobs or lifestyles may need additional recovery time. Our doctors usually see patients a few days after surgery and on a weekly basis afterward.
Vaginal Rejuvenation Costs in San Francisco
Our board-certified plastic surgeons will discuss the treatment options and their recommended approach during the initial consultation. The price of vaginal rejuvenation ranges from $7,000 to $10,000.
In general, revisional surgery in San Francisco costs more than standard procedures because correcting past surgeries tends to take longer and be more complex. Also, while having a single treatment such as vaginoplasty may cost less than having multiple procedures, combining procedures into the same surgical session can reduce the overall price.
Plastic Surgery Associates will offer clear and transparent pricing so that patients can make informed decisions about their care. It is our goal to provide women with the aesthetic improvement, comfort, and confidence they want.
